What to do with my house in texas??
JoaquinWhen I was married, my then husband and I bought a house. We were got the loan under his name because although I had better credit I was working at the time. I was put on the title. Now that I am divorced and was granted the house, I need to remove him from the loan and add myself. Unfortunately, he totally ruined my credit during the whole divorce process and I am having a hard time refinancing the house to my name. What can I do? Any advice is GREATLY appreciated!
FranciscoFind a good banker who wants to help you. You may have to look in your town, or even online for the best interest rates/prices for the loans.
AdrianI'm not sure I understand how you were granted the house, but his name remained on the loan? Were you granted the house on the condition that you refinance the loan in your name?Unless you love the house, I would consider selling it and cleaning up your debt & financial picture. Rent a house and sock away a bunch of cash to put down later on another house.
BelkisYou cannot remove him without a refinance, and it does not appear that you will be able to refinance with your credit situation. If he has signed a quit claim deed turning over his ownership interests to you, he no longer has interest in the house, but still bears responsibility for the mortgage should you default.
ElviraI would call some organizations which support women..Talk to several of them. see what they can do.if nothing there Find 'a 'mean OLD nasty Lawyer
