Refinancing the house?

I don't know if this is in the right section.. But my mom wants to refinance her house the problem is, she doesn't know which bank to trust/go too. She doesn't want to deal with citi-bank, chase doesn't want her.Which other bank she can fully trust with such a troublesome task?Chase bank told her she need to make about $300 more a month and i make about $1000+ a month (yes i know crappy minimum wage job, but it's a start ~_~ )What are the steps she should do/use and which bank should she go too? We want to get this right b/c she kinda got "scammed" for this house, by paying alot for such a small house, now she just want to make it right.Thank you.

Try this. http://www.lendingtree.com/ She can apply at multiple banks at one time. But keep in mind that if she doesn't qualify (Chase seems to think she doesn't) she may not be able to find financing anywhere. Good luck.

You can consider finance houses instead of banks. You mentioned your income. Does this mean you too have ownership of the house? Few steps to take but first is to work your numbers. How much can she/you pay on the monthly mortgage? How many years is she/you looking at mortgage repayment? Once you have these numbers, discuss with finance houses on re-financing package. Don't forget she/you will be liable for insuring the house too.

i would try a small local bank first. they have the best customer service and will be the most straight forward.
