Is there a honest place to refinance?

Ara
I have to refinance my house and after gathering a few places i went to RIPOFF REPORT website to check for fraud and bad deals and most of them are in this website. My credit is fair yet i know there has to be a decent honest comp. I can work with.Any tips?.

The thing is that people usually only report when they've had bad experiences. You don't see "hey I loved the way this company dealt with me" sites.Use a local bank for the most honest service, the larger the company the less they care about you.I don't shop at walmart because I had a bad experience there- but obviously billions of people don't agree with me and still shop there.

Go with someone that has a local branch, so that you can look the person in the eye. Also if there are problems, you can go and talk with someone directly instead of dealing with customer service in a foreign country with a person who does not speak English well.

Start first with your current lender. Check around. Although WaMu and Countrywide have had problems, they're still out there. I liked ABN AMRO, but they got bought by CITI. CITImortgage is reputable.

Try Bank of America, or Wells Fargo. Both are honest reputable and didn't get caught up in the "sub-prime" mess. Both offer good rates for a refinance.
