I have heard negative things. Try a local bank first, one you can visit in person with people you know if you have problems.

I do know that they shut 279 offices in one day. There are like 4 offices left. They fired everyone. With no notice. Do not trust Ameriquest.

We refinanced with Ameriquest (AMC). AMC is the largest holder of mortgages in the U.S.A. They also believe that they are above the law. As we sat down at closing our interest was 3% higher than we'd agree'd. They said sign anyways because we traveled 150 miles to be here and we'll change it asap. Like fools we did.AMC is nationally known for aggressive, often illegal tactics. For an example, if they have the routing # to your checking account, they'll take your payment EVEN IF YOU HAVEN'T AUTHORIZED IT! They are obnocious in their collections; if your payment is due on the 1st, but not late till the 15th, they will start HARRASSING YOU ON THE 2ND, and as I said, even take your money with-out your permission.If it sounds like I'm making this up, I'm not, click on this link> http://ripoffreport.com < and type in Ameriquest, you'll find 588 similar complaints. Try it again typing in AMC and you'll find another 1187 similar complaints.But it doesn't matter, even if you refinance with someone else, chances are 75% that they'll buy your paper and you'll have to deal with them anyways. And they will foreclose on you if you become 30 days late! They now own a good chunk of Louisianna and Mississippi, as soon as the governments nine month ban on forclosures ended, they started, in mass.

run as fast and as far as you can from ameriquest. i refi'd with them nov 2004 and am now in the process of suing them for violations in the truth in lending act and for using an appraiser who's license expired 14 months prior to doing my appraisal.

yeah ive heard some bad things, but they are one of the biggest mortgage houses.so its like home depot. even if they satisfy 99% of their customers that still leaves 1 million unsatisfied customers per year to grumble about it.heres a service that can get you home refinance quotes from competing lenders http://www.savingslife.comdoesnt require a credit check or anything. couldnt hurt.

I have made application for refinance with Ameriquest. They are a flex-able mortgage lender with fair interest rates. You can expect the appraisal to be accurate so get your house in shape. Also they will send an appraiser to your house on a credit basis which is unusual and beneficial. Go ahead and have them pre qualify your income and your Real Estate value so you can get an indication of the loan amount and the terms available to you. Remember to ask them what your credit score is and how to increase it. They can work for you.Sincerely victor the builder.

i can tell u they are a lousy company, and you will find out in the coming months just how lecherous they truly are. i have not refinance with them but i have had some dealing with them as a contractor in the real estate profession. they are late paying liars, fabricators and dead beats.
