Does anyone know of a form that the irs issues after refinancing your house?
MilagrosSomeone told me that they refinanced their house and they submitted to the IRS proof of refinancing their house and kept all of their payments on the house and anything that had to be done with it. The IRS approved it and sent them a special form that the accountant fills out and the home owner is getting back like $300, 000 from the IRS which is what is left in mortgage on the house. All he has to pay is 33% tax to the state on that money and the rest is his. Does anyone know of this?
MelbaWhat?!?! Either I'm completely misunderstanding your question or I guess I need to do some research. I've never heard of anything that could even be mistaken as this scenario, and I deal with a lot of clients every day- many of whom have refinanced recently.I have a feeling this person is either A) pulling your leg. B) A compulsive liar. Or C) is seriously confused about the source and reason for the money he received. There are some strange things happening in the law, though, so I suppose there's always the possibility I'm just lagging behind some great new tax break. Wish I could be of more definite help.Best of luck, :0)
LessieNo, he has been scammed. The IRS does not give back money for this.
