Do you think that the government will help us?

My family recently bought a house in 2006. However, now that we are in a tough economic situation, the bank doesn't want to refinance the house mortgage. Will the government help? What should I do? I do not have an extra cent to spend even for a movie with my children.

Well, you might qualify for food stamps and things of that nature. It could help you save enough money to stay afloat, anyway.

Govt. should not help you. You signed an Agreement to pay for a home and it is not the responsibility of the Govt. to correct your mistake. You made a poor decision and the Govt. cannot fix poor decisions by its citizens.Give the house back to the bank, rent until you can pay for a home.

maybe maybe not. write a letter to your congress person. i would not count on the government. tough time to be a new home owner, however, at least you don't have much, if any, equity in the dwelling. maybe you should walk away OR file for bankruptcy. Whether you realize it or not, there are many people in that sinking boat. No, there will be no government help for them. In fact I believe the government is getting ready to put some holes in that boat, that is filled to the max.If you are telling the truth about your situation...I hope things get better for you and wish you well :)

I got in an Army crash.I had to get out because I can no longer pass the PT test.I was put on the streets and I lived there for nine years.I have been begging for an old used minivan for 16 years to haul my wheelchair in.I still don't have one.You have to give up movies and meat.My shoes are shot.I have no socks.I eat ramen noodles .16 cents at Wal*Mart.And I eat rice how can a Billion people be wrong?You live in a country full of selfish republicans.They will do everything in their power to ensure that you fail.What good is it to be a HAVE if there are not enough HAVE NOT'sto thumb your nose at.I never have and never will have money.Our beloved country is sliding into the footsteps of Greece and Rome.Failed selfish republican civilizations.The government wants you to fail.They have been trying to kill me for years.I only hang on because I want to see the rich eating out of dumpsters like the rest of us.Selfish Bastards.

No I don't think so. Barney Frank and his friends have stolen any money that could have helped. My good friend is in the same situation. Unfortunately she, and her daughter will loose their house. I am sorry for those who are going through this. But if you can't afford it then...Sorry.

I sure hope so but even if they do implement some financial assistance to home owners that may take a while. Im sorry to hear that.
