Can you refinance parents house with power of attorney?

Darryl
The house is in Ohio and only surviving parent is terminally ill. My husband is the only child.

power of attorney is just that power to do anything the p.o.a. should say to buy sell and refinance any real property, but u would have to have income to show for any lender and they will not take the income of the p.o.a. they will want income from the owners, and if one is terminally ill the only survivor there probably isnt enough to fund the loan, therefore your best scenario is to wait until someone has title to the property to fund the loan.

You can only do this if your form for Power of Attorney has specified that you have a right to do it on the paperwork. There are power of attorney's for so many different things. If the paperwork does not state that you have it for that reason then you need to get one that states you do.
