Can i refinance my house without my new husbands name on the mortgage?

I purchased my home in TX before my marriage so the mortgage is only in my name. I want to refinance now but my lender told me that my new husband's name has to go on the mortgage too. My husband and I agree that his name should not be on it. Is there any way via quitclaim form or something that we can accomplish this?

Texas is a community property state but it does not mean he has to be on the loan. The problem is his debts will be added to yours so it usually makes more sense to add the spouse so you can add the their income to offset the debts.
