Can i refinance my house if my hoa put a lean on it?
BrittnyI haven't paid my HOA in 6 months and I got paperwork saying they will put a lean on my house. Will this prevent me from refinancing? I need to refinance to pay my HOA!!!
EstelleYes, that is the main purpose of the lien. You can not sell or refi until the lien is paid off.
FranciscaI second the first answer, you can refinance the loan but the costs to pay off the lien will have to be paid in one way or another at closing (ie you will receive less money or the mortgage will be higher, whatever). If you are getting no money at closing and the lender is unwilling to pay these fees (and up your mortgage) and you can't come up with the money to do it yourself then this could kill the refinance.
Aurorethe title company will do a lean search first and when they find it they will include the amount you owe to what you are refi and add the costs there.
LuigiYes, a lien will impede your ability to refi
