Buying a house in 23 years refinance now or later?
Gwendawill rent old house and hoping to pull out equity for down on next. should I do this now (while their is equity to be had) and pay interest on the pulled equity or hope I still have equity and rates are still near lows? thanks for your help.
HaywoodYou will have to put pencil to paper to figure this one. Be sure to include all the costs and all the returns. Where will you put the borrowed money for the 2-3 years? What will the return be? How much will the added interest deduction benefit you? Best of luck to you.
JeniseMost investors would not take out cash now in order to make an investment at an unknown point in the future. However, it might work out -- you'll have to compare the cost of the monthly payments you'll make for 2~3 years if you borrow now against the the interest you'll earn by investing it over the same period, and use your crystal ball to determine if rates will be better now or in the future, and what will happen to house prices, too.Good luck with your investing!
